Red Galangal is a plant in the ginger family and normally the rhizomes (thickened roots) are used in cooking, as with ginger. It is common in Thai and Indonesian cuisine although the seeds are less commonly used. The red pod consists of a papery outer skin that has a spicy taste very similar to a mild chilli and contains an oval shaped group of seeds with a mild, not overpowering cardamom flavour. Very unique and a perfect replacement for your normal cardamom in any dish. Packed in 50 ml volume flat bottomed test tubes with product weight of approximately 18 g.
